Digging in the Crates

I found Herold Condensed digging through one of my old type specimen binders and instantly knew I had to digitize it. The odd, slim proportions were oozing with character and I immediately flashed through time back to the 1960’s. So much so, I decided to play ‘Spinal Tap’ and create my own hippie band to promote it. Learn all about my band, Literal Vampire, and enjoy all the goodness that is Herold Condensed.

The True Story of Literal Vampire

The truth is that I didn’t pull the name Literal Vampire out of thin air. It was the name of my improv team in the summer of 2019. When I encountered a typeface called ‘Herold’ and my improv team (specializing the ‘Harold’ form) needed a look, I gave them a brand using a strong typeface. When the team finished their run of shows, the branding was too good to retire completely. So I followed the fun and now I have an image of a Literal Vampire van on my hard drive.
